Benefiting Gibbon Conservation Center
Primate Caregiver for a Day
The mission of the GCC is to promote the conservation, study, and care of gibbons through public education and habitat preservation. They educate the public about gibbons, threats to their survival, and the actions the public can take to protect them.
Your day will start by learning about the GCC and its mission and gibbon basics. Did you know gibbons are apes, not monkeys? If you are lucky, you will experience the gibbons singing their territorial song, an unforgettable experience.
After going over safety training, you will start preparing food for 39 gibbons. Then you will go around and feed everyone while learning about the individual gibbon and family dynamics. You will able to see the gibbons up close and at Gabi's discretion, toss food to the gibbons. After feeding, you'll create some enrichment for them and deliver it to one of the gibbons.
*Requirements: Signed Liability Release and medical clearances.
