5. Art Institute of Chicago

Founded in 1879, this gem of Chicago was built as both a museum and a school for the fine arts. It is one of the oldest and largest art museums in the United States houses famous pieces such as American Gothic by Grant Wood, Nighthawks by Edward Hopper, and Water Lilies by Monet. 6. The Magnificent Mile
