9 Festive Fall Activities
IfOnly

The heat is slowly waning, the leaves are gradually changing, and everything pumpkin-flavored is hitting the shelves. It appears that fall has officially snuck up on us all this year. As sad as we might be to bid the long summer days adieu, we couldn’t be more excited to break out all of our sweaters, hear the crunch of fallen leaves, and breath in the crisp autumn air.

Yes, summer is full of countless outdoor activities full of sunshine, but to be honest, fall seems a little underrated! So instead of mourning the end of pool days and flip flops, we thought we would share some of our favorite fall festivities!

1. Go Apple Picking

Pile up your car with family and friends and head to your local orchard. You’ll have a blast wandering through the trees and selecting your spoils. Plus, we’re pretty sure that we read somewhere on the internet (so you know it’s true) that apples taste up to 10 times better if you pick them yourself. Just saying.

2. Visit a Pumpkin Patch

Apples not your thing? Well, then pumpkins it is! Walk through the array of every size, shape, and color imaginable as you search for the perfect canvas for your next jack-o-lantern. Want to make things a little more interesting? Place bets on who can find the most unique pumpkin in the patch!

3. Bake Some Fall Treats

Pecan pie, caramel apples, spiced cider, apple tarts, and pumpkin everything! Need we say more? Break out your family-favorite recipes or try something brand new to welcome in the new season!

4. Create a Fall Wreath

As you look around, every shade of red, orange, green, and yellow seems to be covering the trees and blanketing the ground. Get creative and make your own custom wreath with mother nature’s beautiful palette as your inspiration.

5. Get Lost in a Corn Maze

Put your team’s problem-solving skills to the test as you navigate your way through a corn maze. If you want to make things even more adventurous, split into two teams and race to see who can find their way out first!

6. Go for a Drive

With the weather cooling off and beautiful foliage all around, it’s the perfect time to roll the windows down and go for a joy ride. Designated a DJ and sing your favorite songs with your friends as you take in the beautiful scenery of the season.

7. Tailgate for a Football Game

Fall brings us the gift of football season! Whether you're a die-hard fan or you don’t even know what a field goal is, you’re sure to enjoy a fun tailgate! Get a group of your favorite people and tailgate potluck style with each person bringing their favorite dish!

8. Build a Bonfire

We are eternally grateful to whoever invented the s’more. We have no idea how this odd concoction came to be, but we are 100% here for it. Gather around a bonfire and toast marshmallows as you tell spooky stories and maybe even break out some of those fireside songs from your summer camp days.

9. Attend Your Local Fair

Sure we all give the fair a hard time, but have you had a funnel cake recently? They’re amazing! Get a crew together to see the largest pumpkin, best cow, and fattest pig as you wander the grounds and munch on snacks you’ll likely regret later. If you’re feeling adventurous, hop on a ride and relive your childhood as you spin faster than your stomach can probably handle anymore!
