Treat Your Favorite Architectural Aficionado to a Private Tour of Frank Lloyd Wright's Masterpiece
Treat the design enthusiast in your life to a special tour of the Marin County Civic Center designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. Widely considered one of the greatest American architects of the 20th century, Wright poured his creativity into what would turn out to be his last major work. The building dramatically illustrates the kinship of architecture and the beautiful Marin landscape. Magically peeking out over the dense pine trees, the Civic Center houses all the functions of county government. During this exclusive tour, guests will walk the hallowed halls of the famed building. Led by a knowledgeable docent, they will receive special access to the Marin County Board of Supervisors Chambers and their private balcony, usually restricted to the general public. They will be eye-level with the building’s iconic blue roof and can view custom furniture designed by Wright himself. Fun Fact: The Civic Center was transformed into the Gattaca Complex in the 1997 science fiction movie “Gattaca” starring Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman. Both the interior and exterior, including the blue roof, were featured in the film.
