In his early 20's, Daniel was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis which is an Inflammatory Bowel Disease. Not knowing what this meant for his career, Daniel worked through the challenges and kept his racing career going strong. Daniel has since taken his story and used it as motivation for early stage IBD patients learning of their condition. He has formed a Drive 4 IBD campaign in which he hopes to spread awareness of IBD to the North American population. Daniel believes that in time, the support gained through this awareness will help lead to an eventual cure for the disease.
For 2018, Daniel has made the transition to racing sports cars in the IMSA series. The IMSA series is the highest level of sports car racing in North America and puts on some of the most spectacular events.
