Established in Greenwich in 2006, the 12m Yacht Development Foundation is New England’s premier maritime society for the acquisition, restoration, and preservation of historic America’s Cup Class 12-meter yachts. Inheriting actual vessels raced in America’s Cup for the purpose of education and sport, 12mYDF provides newcomers of all ages with the tools and experience to sail, helm, and race some of the most beautiful and technologically advanced boats on the water. The foundation’s philosophy is to maintain these proud yachts as working boats in order to make them available to a wide variety of audiences, including sailing enthusiasts, corporate and business organizations, schools, charitable events, as well as youth sailing programs and yacht clubs.
