Her versatility can be seen in the thirteen books she has illustrated and three she has contributed to. Brooke studied fashion design in New York City, and began her career as a wardrobe intern for several television studios. After graduating, Brooke began designing and styling products for style magazines before turning her love of fashion illustration into her full-time career.

As the fourth-generation of a winemaking family, Adam Sbragia was raised riding tractors with his grandfather Gino Sbragia, who acquired vineyards near Healdsburg. Adam also followed in the footsteps of his father, Ed Sbragia, who prior to establishing Sbragia Family Vineyards, worked his way up as Head Winemaker at Beringer. Adam has grafted his own path at Chateau Souverain in Healdsburg. Following a cellar internship at St. Clement, he was hired there full-time. Two years later, he was working with his father at Beringer. Having mastered every aspect of wine-production, Adam now applies his craft full-time at his family's vineyard.

As a magician and puzzle creator, David Kwong is a world-class performer, a global conference speaker, and the founder of the Misdirectors Guild, an elite group of magicians that specialize in illusion for film, television, and theater. You can see David's handiwork in the 2013 heist adventure film where he served as the head magic consultant. He is also a frequent crossword writer for top newspapers in New York and Los Angeles. His puzzles are marked by clever, outside-the-grid thinking — and sometimes a dash of magic.

Jean Hoefliger often jokes that finishing law school was what prompted him to turn his path to drinking. Inspired by the perfection of a 1947 Cheval Blanc, the Switzerland-born winemaker found his true calling and completed his viticulture degree at the Swiss Federal School of Changins. He had stints at wineries from Bordeaux to South Africa, but California soon called and he landed at Newton Vineyard. Now as the head winemaker at Alpha Omega Winery, he hews to the vineyard motto, “cultivating excellence,” which has yielded numerous 94-point plus vintages. In his spare time, Jean serves as a consultant to numerous wineries and co-founded Speratus Winery, which donates 100% of profits to provide scholarships to low-income students.

Magnus Carlsen recently defended his World Championship title crowning him yet again as the #1 chess player in the world. Born in Norway, Magnus began playing chess when he was just five years old. He became an International Grandmaster at 13, and six years later he went on to become the youngest player to rank World Number One. Described as the “Mozart of Chess”, he has been the highest rated player in the world since 2011 and holds the record for the highest rating in history. His variety of openings makes it difficult for his proponents to prepare, and his endgame prowess is considered amongst the greatest of all time. When friends and winemakers Micah Joseph Wirth and Adrian Jewell Manspeaker teamed up in 2006, they made their first wine together in a Windsor garage. With two French oak barrels, a small basket press, and exactly one ton of Russian River Valley grapes, they produced 50 cases of single-vineyard Pinot Noir. With no winery affiliation or property of their own, they combined their middle names for the new venture and pooled their resources to build their own wine company dedicated to capturing the unique terroir of single-vineyard sites. The success of that first release enabled Micah and Adrian to invest seriously in their project and grow their garage experiment to a 2500-case production of exceptional wines.
