These setbacks did not stop Rudy from doing all that he could to live his dream. He worked hard, got admitted to Notre Dame, and played for the football team. In the final play of Rudy's senior season, he sacked the opposing team's quarterback, and was carried off the field by his teammates - one of only two players in Notre Dame history to ever be carried off the field. Rudy's story is one of a true underdog and the film is one of the most inspirational biographical sports films of all time. The film 'Rudy' chronicles Rudy Ruettiger's life and how he overcame obstacles to achieve his goals and dream.
