The expert team behind Malt and Mold brings you the best of Brooklyn. Cheesemonger Caitlin Nish pairs cheeses washed and aged in Crown Heights caves with New York City-centric beers. The New York City beer scene has exploded in the past five years. Once there were only two breweries (and the bulk of their production was outsourced in less expensive, more rural parts of the country). Now there are close to 40 breweries and growing. Anticipate a free-flowing conversation about the nature of cheese and the defining part that affinage (the art of aging) plays in its final taste, texture, and character along with free-flowing beer expertly curated by Kevin Heald. The pairing and conversation will last approximately 90 minutes.
