You are in for quite the treat. Executive Chefs and owners Stephen Ross and Stephen Paul of Mortar & Pestle, will prepare for you a two-course seasonal brunch or lunch meal paired with two glasses of bubbly, carefully selected for each course.
Think foie gras and eggs with truffle carpaccio, creme fraiche, caramelized onions and toast paired with Vinum Cellars' sparkling Chenin Blanc. Maybe it's the French toast that the Chicago Tribune calls "the best I've had," paired with Cleto Chiarli "Vecchia Modena"'s Lambrusco, a luscious fall rosé. Or house-made focaccia with chevre cheese, watercress, poached egg and a 24-karat gold dusting paired with the refined Von Buhl, a dry sparkling riesling from Pfalz, Germany.
The menu is seasonal and rotating so you never know what Chef Ross will have in store for you. Enjoy all of these wonderful eats and drinks in a casual but refined atmosphere in the heart of the Lakeview neighborhood.
