Studio Lesson: Traditional Mexican Mask Making with a World-Renowned Artist in a Berkeley Studio
You and up to seven of your friends will spend two insightful hours with artist Diego Marcial Rios. After an introduction to the history of papier-mâché and types of masks, your time together with this master will include 90 minutes of creating your own work of art. You’ll choose between two styles, Day of the Dead/Dia de los Muertos or Sacred Heart. And Diego, an artist who mingles ancient myths and legends, will be there with you, every step of the way. When you’re finished, he’ll give you a signed certificate and photos of you and him, together — proof to you great-great grandchildren that you made a work of art with a world-renowned artist.
