Achieving Balance with Ayurveda: A 3-Day Intensive Course
Practiced for over 5,000 years, and rooted in the ancient knowledge of Vedic India, Ayurveda is a finely tuned, holistic system designed to help people live long, healthy, and well-balanced lives. Taken from the Sanskrit words ayus and veda, meaning lifespan and knowledge, Ayurveda teaches you how to protect yourself from sickness, connect with your consciousness, harmonize your body and mind, and promote healing with a proper diet and lifestyle. In this intensive workshop, Chef Richard LaMarita, an Ayurvedic student and practitioner of 30 years, will teach you all about the theoretical principles and practical applications of this science of life.
Each day will include lecture and hands-on cooking sessions where students will learn how to identify dosha and dosha disorders, how to strengthen the digestive system, how to boost immunity, and how to prepare dhals, bevarages, energizing foods, and desserts. Students will also be taught about Agni, Ojas, and Ama, as well as about detoxification practices, herbal remedies, medicinal use of spices, and Ayurvedic meals and menu planning.
